Ramadan Ending Party’s (What the Haram!)

Salam chand-raat.jpg I don’t Know Why I see invitations going around on facebook and advertisements for Chaand Raat Partys ( Eid Partys), but what’s even worse is that their are Hindus teaming up with Muslims promoting these events with Dj’s and Dance’s. I mean come on first of all, you gotta be sad that Ramadan is leaving, but these guys are so weird it seems as if they are happy its leaving by throwing haram party’s in celebration of the coming of eid, WHY??.

What’s even more annoying is how they take the name as a banner for the party and this is how you end Ramadan? This is how you are so suppose to celebrate? This is not Islam, I cannot stand people who twist up our Deen to their own modified version. Shatan is locked up, if you are going to celebrate like this, then you are like inaugurating him, trying to bail shatan out. Wake up!

What a sad story, I mean if this is the direction in which the Muslim’s are heading then their is a serious need for guidance for Brothers and Sisters. I mean we should be having celebration the right way, and when i mean the right way, i mean at least with certain courtesy’s and respects. Not no dancehall’s for uncles and auntees and seperate for other age groups, the most recent event i seen has multiple dance halls, a separate area to shop, a separate area to get your mehndi done (mehndi i understand, shopping i understand) but when you got the music coming in and gender interaction in a dance hall with bhangra shows, i don’t understand, there is some real ignorance out their in terms of religion and cultural clashing. But this event happening Oct 11, 2007 in long island will be covered by geo and ary digital as well as other Pakistani press. So it will be interesting to see how this whole project turns out after its exposed.

Now some people obviously find this acceptable, I just don’t understand why it has to be the way it is, you have to stick within the parameters and limit yourself to modesty and respecting the etiquettes of Islam. Whoever organized this could have chosen to have it at a masjid or instead of having all this garbage have some appealing scholars come or have nasheeds or games and make it halal, you know!

Inshallah Allah guide all of us and help us understand the deen more clearer and each other more for the betterment of our practices and from the protection of the hell fire. Ameen!

Be Real With Muslims…

Salam, I came across a really good article discussing how many people in the worldwi_main_icon2.jpg, take the actions of a handful of muslims and use that to judge the authentic teachings of Islam. I mean its not fair, admit it, people don’t want to read books and find out whats factual and what kind of a person our beloved Prophet Muhammad was (we send our peace and blessings upon him) rather they want to be brainwashed.

Being judgmental and drawing the black and white card on us is not cool. Be real with yourself. Many people don’t like Islam, and they look for every opportunity to create misconceptions and confuse people who are in search of the truth, they have this mindset coming in that they will try their best to distort true Islam. They gotta chill yo..

Hitler himself was a Christian but he killed millions of innocent jews, that is totally wrong, but we don’t say that all Christians are like that! Or if one guy says he follows this religion but is extreme and does not understand what he is following or how to follow it, we don’t use him as an example. We look towards the real guidance, The Holy Quran and the Example of Our Beloved Prophets. So do not be misled, if you are reading this.

Remember God (Allah) is the real judge, don’t be blinded and go astray, pick up the Quran and go towards your educational resources to study Islam. Go to the mosque, understand why Muslims pray, why we fast, why we go to hajj! It’s easy to look at some people and judge, be sincere in your intentions and act upon whats right. Be a peacemaker and be productive members of society, anger and hatred must be eliminated for us to move in a positive direction. Inshallah Allah guide us all on the straight Path…Ameen!

A Need For Awareness

Salam Yo,muslim_kids_praying.gif

Interesting enough to say, we are already on our 14 day of Ramadan, Time is flying, kind of scary, but it’s time we elevate our souls and become more aware of life and reflect upon the state of our iman, what i mean by this is that take full advantage of our time and resources, Alhumduillah Allah gave us a body, and with this body we pray, we work, we inshallah try to carry out good deeds and most importantly submit to the will of Allah in every aspect of our life’s.

Often times the youth say “we will practice islam when we get older”, especially the way this society is designed, a kid graduates from high school where he is exposed to fitnah at every level, then goes on to college, and what do people tell him “oh this is your time, you will never get it back, go do whatever you want to do”, I dont have to explain what that means but its sad to see that we are in a state of heedlessness, we often are unaware that we are getting nearer to death and will be raised and questioned about what whether we achieved our purpose in life? Which is to submit to Allah.

Every second that goes by, every opportunity that comes our way and we waste to submit to Allah, is in reaction a tremendous loss to what we could have seized in that moment. Becoming so full of this life thinking at times we are going to be here forever, the teachings of the Quran that warn them about falling into this state are ignored. Our inner desires take over and we get trapped in our ways surrendering to our lower selves and let the immediate pleasures of this short life filled with illusions grab a hold of us. This is something to seriously think about, Especially in Ramadan, I’ve been thinking about how have i been doing, is my imann shifting in the right direction. This month filled with blessings, Alhumduillah, which if we are in most be a wake up call.

The little things matter, refraining from those things that drive us away from our purpose and Islam, People tell me ” if you can stop doing something for month” then you can stop doing it for a year. No excuses, its just a matter of reflecting and being real with yourself. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad said ” A person will miss two things when they are old, Health and Youth”. When we become weak physically of course we can’t do the things we normally did, the events, the dawah efforts, which is why its so important to understand that Alhumduillah while we have health, youth, inshallah then make moves. The internal clock which Allah has put for you is ticking and Inshallah we must be in a constant state of ibadah, in our mental, physical, and spiritual.

Allah says in the Holy Quran, “So glad tidings to one who takes himself to account (hasaba nafsahu) before he it taken to account. Allah Most High has said, “O ye who believe! Observe your duty to Allah. And let every soul look to that which it sendeth on before for the morrow. And observe your duty to Allah! Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do. And be not ye as those who forgot Allah, therefore He caused them to forget their souls. Such are the evil-doers.” (Qur’an, 59: 18)

So always bring youself into account, ask yourself, did i act righteous today? did I improve? was i alert and concerned about my state with Allah, or did i just waste time, did i pray?. Inshallah let’s all start become more aware of our life before it is to late and understand that we will be taken into account as those before us, So fullfill your obligations and stay on the deen. Ameen!

Chill Yo Islam Yo

Me and my friends that have been born and raised in New York, have a certain way of talking, or as you can say slang, in Brooklyn and else where, you see all kinds of Muslim brothers and sisters, and you will see them dressed a certain way, talking a certain way, etc. For example we have a habit instead of saying hi like others we say Salaam but we also say “Yo What’s Good”, and then the other person would say “Chillin Alhumduillah”, or if we are being lectured or are conversating and we agree with the issue or topic, instead of making it complicated we just say “Werd”, it just makes life easier, and it saves time.

31.jpg

But when it comes to saying something is haraam, we like to switch it up a bit and just make it easier by saying Chill Yo Islam Yo….basically me and all my friends every time we are offered to do something haraam or people try to tempt us, you know those annoying shatans (meaning devils), we just straight up say “Chill Yo Islam Yo,” Islam is real relaxing, although it might seem hard in this life, inside your heart your in peace and tranquility…so yea this is why we say Chill Yo Islam Yo.

I really found it to be an appealing slogan, as least in New York, it just sums up everything we feel as Young Muslims at any given situation, it gets real addicting talking like this, and it sort of becomes automatic, so don’t get it twisted, Chill Yo Islam Yo. Halalujah!

It’s ok to be a Strange Muslim….

So they say How Strange?, when people see you grow a beard or a start wearing an hijab and in reaction start calling you “extreme”, well one thing is to remember when the Prophet Muhammad came with the Message and Teachings of Islam, He was called a “stranger” and he stated that”Islam began as something strange, and it shall return to being something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers.” So let them say what they want, because their level of ignorance about how Islam is a reflection of how “extreme they really are”…

Brother Usman from my halaqa informed me about this beautiful Video from Shiekh Khalid Yasin on “Strange Muslims”. Enjoy Inshallah…….

Starting a MSA….

Salam, At my community college sadly the Msa (Muslim Students Association) has been inactive, easy for me to say or anyone dissatisfied at the state of it, but you know i realized myself along with some brothers and sisters that we have to start it up, everyday i walk on campus, i see the absence of an Islam, Mashallah A brother reverted last week, and some brothers and sisters are coming back to the deen, but the majority are still left drying, I personally feel like when our Msa gets active and Inshallah we have programs that are appealing then many Muslims who aren’t in remembrance of the Deen can come back to the teachings and practices of Islam.Msa at Kbcc

Last semester i used to ask myself all the time, there is so much social gender interaction amongst the Muslims, where is the MSA? Alhumduillah i was able to get in contact with a sister and she along with the MSA held two successful programs, one with Shiekh Khalid Yasin, What is the purpose of life?, and another on how is the status of woman in Islam. Both were really good and it attracted muslims and non muslims. What i realized after observing how the state of MSA is, was that i had to do something about making it more productive, and what good is it for me to come to college just for my own studies, there must be consideration of dawah and the image of Islam on campus as well as unifying the muslims and making moves. So now since it’s ramadan and everyone is asking where is the MSA?, myself along with brothers and sisters with the help of Allah inshallah will have programs, and most importantly build a proper prayer room.

Although we have a room, it has no carpet, and it’s pretty small and Inshallah if we can get funds and think of ways to expand then we will do our best to make sure our MSA is active, and muslims on campus feel comfortable about having a place to pray and more importantly feel are reminded of their identity on and off campus. So the lesson is don’t expect things to happen, do something about it, Allah says in the quran, he does not change the conditions of the people unless they choose to change for the better, so stop criticizing, its easy to talk, but we must be proactive Inshallah!

Wasalaam Yo!

Are You Serious?

Salam, I know some people are lazy and don’t like washing themselves, or go to the masjidnew-one.jpg with white socks and come out with black socks because the bathrooms are really wet and dirty, but how lazy can technology make us that we change the way we do wudu? Check this out, A company based in Australia decided to roll out automatic wudu machines, It is reported that Saudi Arabia has already ordered several thousand machines, as well Malaysia, where the assembly lines are producing this machine called “AWW”, Automatic Wudu Washers…..

Bida 1?

wudu-3.jpg

“The Islamic Council of Australia has issued a fatwa approving the new machine,” Gomez said, the Chairman and Managing Director of Australian AACE Worldwide PTY Ltd

Commenting on Gomez’s invention, prominent Egyptian scholar Sheikh `Abdul-Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef said he sees nothing wrong in using the AWW as long as the basic pillars and requirements of ablution are strictly observed in a right and precise way.

So what do you think? Stick to doing Wudu the Sunnah Way or go with this infared sensor equipped technology? As one brother said what’s next? A Machine that prays for me?….lol.

The Best Quran Recitators In the World!

Salam lol, this is far most the best recitation I’ve heard in the World
Keep this beautiful hadith in mind…

The Last Prophet (PBUH) said: “Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses (because he doesn’t know how to read it but is trying to), then he will have TWICE that reward.”

Vote for the best one!
