How the Prophet Muhammad (s) Really Looked

Salam, The Seal of Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him)

With all the drama going on with the pictures of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s) and the wikipedia incident, I figured why not just straight up describe the true beauty and appearance through authentic hadiths. My boy Azeem Khan blogged about the wikipedia beef here, you can join that discussion if you wish. But I want to share the real description. To the right of this line is a picture, this is the Seal of our beloved Prophet, which was on his body and his official seal for his letters incase you didn’t know. Myself and others will agree that the description given to us from Sahih Hadiths are enough to love him, for how he looked and essentially how he was. Thank You Prophet Muhammad (s).org for hooking everyone up with this accurate info.

His companions described the beauty of the Prophet (s) in these terms:

“The Prophet (s) had a most handsome constitution. Some gave the smile of his beauty to that of the full moon,His nose was thin, His face was smooth,His beard was thick,His neck was the most beautiful,If the rays of the sun fell on his neck, it appeared like a cup of silver mixed with gold. The place between his shoulders was wide.

Anas bin Malik (ra) says:

“The Messenger of Allah, was not excessively tall or short. He was not very pallid nor dark. He did not have curly hair or lank hair. Allah commissioned him at the age of forty. He stayed in Mecca ten years and at Medina for ten years and Allah the Mighty, the Majestic made him die when he was sixty. There were not twenty white hairs in his hair or beard, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

Anas bin Malik (ra) says:

“The Prophet (s) was neither tall nor short. He was handsome. His hair was neither delicate nor curly. He was neither very white, nor very brown.

Abu Huraira (ra) describes:

“The complexion of Rasulullah (s) was white with redness in it. The blessed eyes of Rasulullah (s) were extremely black. His eyelashes were long.

Umm Ma’bad (ra), who was known for her generosity, uprightness and courage, was visited by the Prophet (s) during the Prophet (s) migration from Mecca to Medina, but failed to recognize him. However, she described him to her husband, who recognized the Prophet (s) from her description:

“He was innocently bright and had a broad countenance. His manners were fine… He had black attractive eyes… His hair glossy and black, inclined to curl, he wore long. His voice was very commanding. His head was well formed and set on a slender neck. His expression was pensive and contemplative, serene and sublime. The stranger was fascinated from the distance, but no sooner he became intimate with him, than this fascination was changed into attachment and respect. His expression was very sweet and distinct. His speech was well set and free from the use of superfluous words, as if it were rosary of beads. His stature was neither too high nor too small. He was singularly bright and fresh.

He was always surrounded by his Companions. Whenever he uttered something, the listeners would hear him with rapt attention and whenever he issued a commandment, they vied with each other in carrying it out. He was a master and a commander. (Shaykh Safi ur-Rahmân al-Mubarakpoori, The Prophet’s Attributes and Manners From “The Sealed Nectar”, Islam’s Youth Voice)

Abu Huraira (ra) reports:

“I did not see anyone more handsome than Rasulullah (s). It was as if the brightness of the sun had shone from his blessed face. I did not see anyone walk faster than him, as is the earth folded for him. A few moments ago he would be here, and then there. We found it difficult to keep pace when we walked with him and he walked at his normal pace.”

“When he walked, he lifted his legs with vigour, leaned, slightly forward and placed his feet softly on the ground. He walked at a quick pace and took a rather long step. He did not take small steps. When he walked it seemed as if he was descending to a lower place. When he looked at something, he turned his whole body towards it. He always looked down. His blessed glance was focused more to the ground than towards the sky. His noble habit was to look at something with a slight glance. He made salaam (greeted) first to whomsoever he met.” (Shamaa-il Tirmidhi, Islamic Book Service Publications, New Delhi, 2000, p. 118)

Hassan (ra) says:

He had great qualities and attributes, others also held him in high esteem. His blessed face shone like the full moon. He was slightly taller than a man of middle height, but shorter than a tall person…His blessed hair was slightly twisted. If his hair became parted naturally in the middle he left it so, otherwise he did not habitually make an effort to part his hair in the middle. Rasulullah (s) had a very luminous complexion (color), and a wide forehead. His eye brows were of dense and fine hair

His neck was beautiful and thin, like the neck of a statue shaved clean, the color of which was clear, shining and beautiful like silver. All the parts of his body were of moderate size. His body was proportionately jointed.

“His forehead was wide and the place between his eyebrows was bright like pure silver and eye-balls were black tinged with reddish hue. The hairs of his eye lashes were profuse, When he smiled or laughed, they (his teeth) shone like lightning. His lip was most beautiful,His beard was thick,His neck was most beautiful, neither long, nor short. If the rays of the sun fell on his neck, it appeared like a cup of silver mixed with gold. His chest was broad. It was even like a mirror and white like the moon light,His shoulders were wide. His palms were softer than wool.

Oh and my favorite Hadith’s

According to the hadith narrated by one of the companions of the Prophet (s), the Prophet (s) told his Companions, when they were traveling to meet some brothers in faith:

“You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for Allah does not love ugliness”( Sunan Abu Dawud, Volume 4, Number 83)

Subhanullah, Now that’s the description of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s), Don’t get it twisted for all you haters out there. Alright I’m out…check out this site for more description and oh yea how can I forget the Speech of Shaykh Hamza Yusuf on this, Check that out here. I recommend everyone to listen to that. It’s a breathtaking lecture on our beloved Prophet (s) outward appearance.

And remember you can fall in love with someone by their beauty, it happens at first sight, and in return the heart develops love. Allah loves beauty, thats why all the Prophets (peace and blessings be upon him) were beautiful. With regard to Prophet Yusuf and the Question whether he was more beautiful than Prophet Muhammad (s)… Shaykh Abdul-Karim Yahya from Sunnipath mentions

” According to Imam al-Bajouri (Allah have mercy on him) our scholars have explicitly stated that it is from the perfection of faith to believe that no human’s body had the combination of beautiful features that were combined in the body of the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace). He proceeded to say, “Even with this, his complete beauty did not manifest, otherwise eyes would not have been able bear the sight of him.” Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him.

Alright Wasalaam, That’s just his beauty, now think about his character also, that should certainly shake your heart. [ratings]

Pakistan Blocks Haram Tube..I mean Youtube.

Salam,

BBC News has released an article stating that Pakistan has Blocked Youtube. Pakistan in the mist of the election has recognize Youtube as a site that is offensive to Islam because of its content. Instead of Blocking the site completely I think maybe Youtube should just be filtered out. Although their is much impressible content on Youtube, I see much benefits also.

But then again with the rise of many Islamic Tube sites then perhaps maybe we don’t need Youtube.

Umm seems like a debate, but Youtube is the Number One video site in the world and it can be used for positive or negative purposes. The questions comes down to What do Muslims Use YouTube For? I think beside Islamic knowledge its also entertainment. Now that I think about its an amazing website, you can feel connected to the whole world. Well thats me, what do you feel about this?

Islam and Obesity (Why People are so fat)

Salam,

What do you do to fulfill your desires? Ask different people and you will certainly get different answers, but looking upon the state of society we can say that some individuals drink excessively, some do drugs, some worship money and become obsessive compulsive gamblers and then their are those who eat like theres no tomorrow.

Considering as a country we consume much of the worlds resources, its interesting to know we also waste much also, but nevertheless thats not my point, i wanted to talk a little bit about people who eat like they have two stomachs and have developed such a big belly that they can’t see their toes when they look down.

Many people don’t know this but protecting the stomach is one of the things which Islam put high priority towards and their is much wisdom behind it. Did you know that eating excessively hardens the heart, it weakens the limbs, this in return has an immediate effect on your laziness in obedience. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad said ‘The son of Adam has not filled a vessel more evil than his belly. Sufficient for the son of Adam are morsels to sustain his back. But if this is impossible, then let him keep a third for his food and a third for his water and a third for his breath.’ (Related by Related by al-Tirmidhī)

Essentially regulating gratification is the main theme here or as we say in the modern world ” Watch What You Eat”. See with all the modern techniques to combat weight loss and help people live a better lifestyle, i would have to say with alot of sincerity that if we as humans look towards our beloved Prophet and followed simple directions then perhaps we can see how our life’s can transform. From a physical and spiritual standpoint.

Go Ahead Try leaving 1/3 of your stomach empty every time you eat, and make it a habit. I promise you will notice the immediate difference in your everyday productivity. Coming from a desi family, I obviously have eaten much hell spices my whole life and still often continue to do so. Although its real unhealthy, the reason we can’t seem to give it up is because of taste.

What I learned from this is that if you want to see a change in your life, you will have to let go of your desires and control yourself. You have to condition your body and soul so that it becomes less dependent on the world. Yes you will have to make sacrifices, maybe let go of some tasty food or habits which you have become used to. But in the end sacrifice pays off, its sort of like leaving life as a believer. We all know Allah swt created this life with hardships but if we pass we will be in heaven, its your choice to have fun right now or in the afterlife. Intelligent people always think about the future.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad also said ” He who’s stomach is full in this world will be hungry for longest in the Hereafter” (Related by al- Tarbani on the Authority of Salman) See how much the Sunnah talks about watching your stomach! Anyhows that pretty much does, Just because you have a dollar don’t run to the dollar menu, save up and buy some organic my brothers and sisters. I will end with a quote by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf ” The reason why people are so fat is because their souls are starving”. Wow Subhanullah. Also remember the reason why we are Slaves of Allah the Almighty is because we are Free of our inner animal driven desires.

Next time you start eating, please watch what you eat. The fatter someone is, the less space in the prayer line. Haha. Drop me a comment, tell me what you think…..Alright Wasalam Peace! Your boy Saad Ahmad Rashad.

Don’t Be the Devil’s Advocate.

Salam,

So I was just thinking recently after watching this video, How much of our claims about “Loving Allah” and “Hating the Shaytan” are actually true, It’s real strange how we say one thing one moment and then another moment our hearts quickly change and we are tricked into committing a sin or following the shaytan after his whispers.

It’s real interesting how often these whispers can be so evil and we ask ourselves ” How are these thoughts coming to me?”. Especially in Salat. Well guess what? Did you know that their is a specific evil jinn that Iblis sends out to distract people in salat. His name is “Khinzuq”, his job is to put the worst thoughts you can ever imagine in your head. This specific jinn used to come to our beloved Prophet Muhammad, and one time the our beloved Prophet choked him out. Yes! he choked him out, because thats how angry he got towards this evil jinn. Our beloved Prophet was able to see the jinn, and he told us that if this jinn comes to you during Salat giving you these haram thoughts, Then look towards your left shoulder and spit three times and say A`udhubillahi min al-shaykhtan (I seek refuge in Allah from Satan).

So you might be wondering about these thoughts, don’t worry. Its natural. Just make sure you keep this advice in your hearts and recite what our beloved Prophet told us to keep yourself safe. One of the tricks of shaytan is he likes to make you question yourself about the deen inwardly, and in this process the individual falls into doubt about his or her deen and boom! All of a sudden your not following the commands of Allah. So think about it and be real careful about what you say and how you act in accordance to it. Oh yea Please Watch this video and tell me what you think, (Warning: He looks really ugly and scary)….

Chilling in Heaven (inshallah)

Salam, n26101406_30638333_7936.jpg

In this post I will inshallah write about the description of heaven yes i know you already feel delighted but before i do get into the details  let me just give my insight on this life compared to the next.

As we take life one day at time we constantly remind ourselves that this world isn’t our resting place. We the believers are just travelers, constantly making power moves and doing dhikr (remembrance of Allah). We witness this dunya where many get caught up in and forget that one day it will end, and we recognize that when it ends all of humanity will be bought fourth and questioned about how they spent their time. This time which begun as soon as we came into existence and will continue until we leave this world.

Whenever I hear about the description of heaven, my heart moves. The most important difference between this life and the hereafter is that the akhirah will be eternal (forever) so think about it yourself, wouldn’t you want to invest in the hereafter. It only makes sense that we use our rational intellect now and start acting accordingly. We know from Hadith that Allah surrounded heaven by hardships, but its a test and guess what you have the anwsers for the test. Now you just have to be righteous, Allah wants to see you act. If you say you love Allah, then go show him.

Now to the real deal, how will heaven be like? We can get the most accurate description from our two primary sources as in any case, The Quran and Sunnah. I’m going to write the hadiths which i have come across that describe heaven so you can continue to make effort to enter it Inshallah. I was listening to an Anwar al Awlaki speech that was called a walk in paradise and he mentioned many descriptions of heaven, from the lowest level to the highest. Here is the description of heaven which i will sum up based authentic sayings from our beloved Prophet Muhammad in the speech by Anwar al Awlaki as well as other references:

In the lowest level of paradise, you will get the earth multiplied by 70, in terms of space to chill in!

Now thats what i call real estate….forget donald trump.

If a woman of paradise (al hoor-al iyn) reveals herself she would fill the distance between jannah and earth with her smell, and her light would overshadow the light of the sun, and her scarf is better than the world and everything in it, only the scarf! Not her eyes, or body or anything else yet, just her scarf! These hoors will be for the pious men in the gardens of paraidse, they will have wide beautiful bright lovely eyes. Sheikyh Ibn Utaymeen said “the woman from this world who enter paradise will be better than the hoor -al iyn, even in outward appearance, and Allah knows best” as said on Islam Q and A

The dirt in jannah is musk, the pebbles in jannah are emeralds and diamonds, gardens where the tree trunks are of silver and gold.

The followers of Prophet Muhammad are one half of the population of paradise.

And our Beloved Prophet said jannah is huge, whoever prays 12 sunnah’s a day, Allah will make a mansion for him in paradise.

Everything in dunya is contaminated, everything in Jannah is Pure. In this life if you eat too much, you become sick, you get heart problems, diabetes, and it comes out your body. Al Ghazali said the highest level of pleasure in this life is sexual relationships, between man and his wife.

In jannah their will be no menstrual period, no sweating, no defecation, everything will be pure.

If you eat from a tree in jannah, everytime you eat it, the taste will become better and better.

A Hadith narrated by (Sahih Al-Jame As-sagheer) tells us that the scent of heaven can be smelled from a distance of 70 years.

In heaven there will be no sleep, our beloved Prophet Muhammad said ” Sleep is the sister of death, and the dwellers of heaven will not sleep”

Anas Bin Malik (RA) reported that our Beloved Prophet said “Indeed, there is a bazzar in the heaven where the dwellers of the heaven will come on every Friday, the northerly wind will spray scent on them and this will enhance their beauty, And when they will return to their homes, their households will say “By Allah, your beauty has enhanced, “So has yours,” they will return the compliment (Muslim)

Our beloved Prophet said “In the night of Isra when I met Ibrahim (AS) he said: “Oh Muhammad (SAW) tell your people that heaven has pure soil and sweet water but the land is bare. If they want to plant trees in heaven, they should say Subhan Allah Al-Humduillah and Allahu Akbar”

In this life, you can get pleasure and pain, but in the hereafter, it will be either pure pleasure if you are in heaven, or complete pain if you are in hell.

A Father named Usman Al Hakeem once told his son, ” Oh my son, work for this world proportionate to the time you are going to spend in it, and work the for the hereafter proportionate to the time you are going to spend in it, and if you want to commit a sin, then go ahead commit the sin, but do it in a place where Allah azzawjal can’t see you

Subhanullah how deep!

Here are the names of Heaven

Jannat–This name has been used most commonly in the Qur’an and Hadith. (Al-Baqarah: 35, Al-e-Imran: 133, 142, Al-Maidah: 72)

Dar-us-Salam–This means the Home of Peace (Yunus: 25)

Jannat-ul-Khuld–The Eternal Gardens. (Al-Furqan: 15)

Darul-Maqamah–The Home (Fatir: 35)

Jannat-e-Adan–Gardens of Everlasting Bliss (Tauba: 72, Ar-Rad: 23)

Darul-Hywan–But verily the Home in the Hereafter–that is life indeed, if they but knew. (Al-Ankabut: 64)

Jannat-un-Naeem–The Gardens of Delight. (Al-Maida: 65 Yunus: 9 Al-Haj: 56)

Al-Maqam-al-Ameen–The House of Security (Ad-Dukhan: 51)

Jannat-ul-Mawa–Garden of Abode (An-Najm: 15)

Maqad-as-Sidq–Assembly of Truth (Al-Qawr: 55)

Qadam-as-Sidq-Assembly ofTruth (Al-Qawr:55).

Firdous–The Highest Gardens of the Heaven (Al-Kahaf: 107, Al-Muminoon: 11)

We ask Allah Azzawajul to guide us on the straight path, and protect us from the hellfire and one day be in the gardens of paradise…Ameen!

Making the Best Muslim Blog

Salam, ist2_3482962_headlines.jpg

Now i want to just quickly say my suggestions and insights aren’t just for Muslims, they can be helpful God willing to Non Muslim bloggers also. Most of my readers are Muslim, so i figured i write my title geared towards that specific crowd. Thank You, want some halal meat? Okay let me start.

With the spark of 50 million Islamic blogs, all mashallah trying to give dawah and i guess brand themselves. I wanted to talk a little about blogging and how to make a good blog and discuss my views on certain blogs which i have come across. I have to say their are few blogs which i really like and am astonished by due to the fact they consistently bring out quality content as well as developed a decent fan base. Running a blog is no joke, ask any blogger who is serious about his or her blog. They will tell you how much time they put into it, it’s practically a job that pays off with halal bucks . IF you manage to make it that far. If you don’t get the money, at least you tried to help people change for the better. Most Muslim bloggers i have seen so far use Wordpress or Blogger…we all know Wordpress is the best =). Right, Right?

One thing which helps me write more is support from emails which i get from different people around the country and the world. It motivates me alot and what i learned from experience is you can do anything you set your mind to. If you feel you have some talent or skills then i think you should use it for halal purposes and you will see a successful outcome Inshallah.

One of my hobbies is analyzing different types of blogs, I like seeing blogs develop as well as fulfill their purpose. As a business major, hoping inshallah to be an honest businessman one day, i love thinking of new ideas to write about or just in general of ideas that can go far. A philosophy in business tells us that “an idea is no good unless it is put into practice”. So if you think of something, put it into practice!

Now my site is definitely a blog, but i think i just want to keep coming out with articles to help the youth. As you might know the purpose of my site is help those who are in trouble by sin’s, in addition helping humans develop the Chill Yo Islam Yo mentality, basically saying no smoking drugs, drinking alcohol, staying away from fornication. Most of all God consciousness and realization that we aren’t going to be here forever.

Now running a site just for Muslims isn’t that easy, because you have begun to market just to a particular audience but on the other hand if one has the ability to write a certain way, connect with individuals on a certain level, bring up issues and story’s that are appealing then perhaps you can develop into that site you wish to become. Nowadays if want to make money you can use Google Adsense which everyone loves. I use it also as you may have seen, my tip to all of you is make sure you filter out the haram advertisements, i wrote an article on that Here. In addition to adsense their are many other options such as Widgetbucks, Text Link Ad’s, Chitika. Where you place your ad’s is another challenge, what color should you make your ad’s, does it go with your theme? Just some stuff you should think about before jumping ahead of yourself. Trust me, i keep learning from my mistakes.

Some blogs which i visit often are Mujahideen Ryder, Azeem Khan, Hahmed, Maniac Muslim, Muslim Matters, and many others especially the ones on my BLOG ROLL, but i think the ones i mentioned specifically because of dedication, growth, and interest, (not the haram interest in the bank) Making your website means making a positive image of yourself, so that every time you come out with a post people run to see it. Their are many aspects which Inshallah i will discuss later on but some things to keep in mind is quality, consistency, and trust in Allah.

One thing which i have seen over time is People who start blogging but die out quick, No! you must put in time and work to be successful. Overall what i am basically trying to say is i believe we all can improve the image of Islam if we write educated posts with the intention of bringing about positive changes inshallah. Everyone is starting to listen to us, people are reading, the internet is amazing, let’s use it for our advantage.

Alright so that wraps it up, Inshallah i will write more about this later on, this was just literally scratching the surface, i want to continue to help people write and make their blogs better as well as mine. Got ideas? Questions? Criticism? comment below and let me know what you think…….

Relating to Allah

Salam, 121859926_5601ab85b1.jpg

Where is Allah in your life? This is a question we should deeply reflect on everyday as we get nearer to the day of our departure. To get even more specific like the pacific, are we praying 5 times a day? Are you making supplication? We often wonder what can we do for Allah or how can we increase our rank on the day of judgement. The truth is we need to increase our eman. yes we need an eman rush and honestly we can do everything for the sake of Allah. Remember our deen is not compartmentalized. Meaning its not a subway sandwich, you can’t customize it, its either the 12 foot sandwich tuna or its nothing. No haram sandwiches, and if your breath is kicking remember cleanliness is half of your eman. Back to the message, We have to learn to be conscious of this motive, this level of remembrance.

But where does this eman rush come from? it sure doesn’t come from russia. It comes from our heart, and the biggest claim which we all make saying We love Allah, We love all the beloved Prophets, its just all talk until its consistently driven into our actions, Why? because if you love Allah and you love the Prophets, then why don’t you do what they say. See its all relative. If you told your wife in the brothers case, (sisters obviously its the opposite scenario) so lets say you claim you love your spouse and when your spouse is in need of something or is sick and you don’t help them. Then that’s just lip service. Understand? Basically you must act upon what you speak, in other words practice what you preach.

See time is limited, our destination is the hereafter. We are not here to worship money, to worship the dunya, we are here simply to carry on the message of those believers before us, those before them, eventually leading back to our beloved prophets. It’s really not that complicated. It comes down to prayer, it comes down to good character, patience, and most of all reading the Holy Quran. Not harry potter! well read what you feel is right, but the word of God Almighty is the truth, and if you don’t know already. The quran will either be used for you, or against you on the day of judgment.

So do you have Islam inside, or shaytan inside? let me tell you something about the devil, all he can do is whisper into your ears. Once that happens, you have to use your intellect to choose between right and wrong. Act like humans, not like demons as Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Hanson al Maliki says. The main thing which we have to establish in our Hearts is Tawhid. We don’t submit to anything else except to the Will of God Almighty, and that is what makes us the caretakers of earth. We have to restore peace, we have to restore stability, we have elevate ourselves.

Alright thats about it my brothers and sisters.

Al Hasan Al Basri used to say ” Do not be like the one who studies like a scholar but likes a fool”

Muhmmad b Al Munkadir used to say ” I love to see the brothers being at their very best during the night (in humble devotion) for surely that is nobler than being at ones very best during the day. The reason for this is that during the day one is seen by people while during the night one is seen by the Lord of the Worlds”

Something seriously to think about. Inshallah we will meet again. Wasalaam peace.

Save the earth..

Salam, global-warming.jpg

It’s amazing how we get so comfortable in life and don’t realize how precious something is until we lose it. Guess what’s the most important thing for all of humanity? Planet Earth. I’m not an environmentalist or specialist in the global warming issue but i felt that i should be considerate and write an article about what we should do to protect our bed. When i say bed i don’t mean the posturepedic or thermapedic mattress you sleep on, i am referring to the air you breathe, the ground which you walk upon, the oceans which we sail in, the vegetation we eat and even more further the balance or mezan which God Almighty (Allah) has set up for us, the perfect equilibrium. Which now is being destroyed and is a slow suicide for humanity if you want to look at it more deeply.

It’s interesting to know that the word Earth appears in the Quran 485 times and the literal meaning of “shariah” means the source of water and the color of Islam is Green. (As mentioned here) Subhanallah! I want you to really think about that for a second. There are many ayahs in the Quran which state the importance of the earth and the system and blessings God has set up for us.

Let me read these beautiful verses from the Quran, Chapter 16:10 - the Bees - Which describes God’s creation and how should we be appreciative.

“It is He Who sends down rain from the sky, from it you drink and out of it grows the vegetation on which you feed your cattle.

With it He produces for you crops, olives, date palm, grapes and every kind of fruit:verily in this, is a Sign for those who give thought.

He has made subject to you the Night and the Day, the Sun and the Moon; and the Stars are in subjection by His command: verily in this are signs for men who are wise.

And the things on this earth, which He has multiplied in varying colors and quantities: verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah in gratitude.

It is He Who has made the sea subject, that you may eat from flesh that is fresh and tender, and that you may extract from ornaments to wear, and you see the ships that plough the waves. And you may seek thus of the bounty of Allah and that you may be grateful.

And He has set up on this earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that you may guide yourselves. And marks and signposts; and by the Stars men guide themselves.

Is then He Who creates, like one that creates not? Will you not receive admonition?

If you would count up the favors of Allah, never would you be able to number them; for Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful.”

That certainly should shake the heart and should be an immediate reminder for all of us. A gift is something which should be preserved. God gave you a gift, if you love God preserve this gift (the planet earth). Don’t you feel sorry for the penguins who are suffering in the north pole, I guess they don’t really have happy feet after all. The polar ice caps are melting rapidly, the weather is going to extremes and places where we thought it would never snow or storms would come, they are now coming.

At the end of the day, we must recognize as Muslims and Non Muslims, we have a responsibility, if we want to live life but are killing the earth then its only a loss for us. You might think that humans may not be the cause of this, but guess what we are. As mentioned by the United Nations in an article by the New York Times. None of us plan on moving to mars, so start working. Even something so little as planting a tree can make a difference. Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said there are seven things which a person will be continued to be rewarded for after his or her death. These are teaching people, digging a new way for a river to flow, digging a well, planting a tree, building a mosque, bequeathing Allah’s book to someone, and begetting a child who will beg Allah’s forgiveness for him or her after death”

So what else can you do to help the environment? Check out Yahoo Green, An amazing project to slow down Global Warming and how you can help. God willing we can do a little independently but collectively it will be enough to improve our earth. Oh yea shout out to Al Gore for his efforts and documentary “An inconvenient truth”

We ask Allah to help the earth and forgive us for our mistakes. Ameen!
