Fresh New Look (for the kid’s)

Salam Yo,

I finally got bored of this theme and I know you guy’s were getting depressed seeing my site without any flavor so I finally changed my theme, ahh deep breath. It’s fresh like the johnson and johnson baby. I think I will stay with this one for a while. What do you think? It’s the extreme halal makeover, website edition. As you would probably know, in web design your appearance and layout is highly important to catch visitors. Sort of like your house, if your house is dirty and doesn’t look organize then people won’t feel comfortable staying.

To all my bloggers and visitors out there, you gotta take this into consideration. I’m not a professional web designer, but if you want to build a decent return rate on your visitors you are going to have to start making power moves. There is way too much competition out there to be slacking, pick up your game if you seriously want to take your blog in a certain direction.

Yea I changed my logo temporarily and Inshallah look out for some adjustments on the site. I know I’ve been weak on consistency but my brain is dead lately due to dunya stress and lack of time. Sometimes when I get this rush in my soul I start writing till my hand’s get athiritis. Calm down, it’s not that serious. But yea stay tooned folks for the halal rice crispy treats. Make dua for me, I will do it for all of you. Don’t worry dua is free and when you do it for a fellow brother or sister, the Angels make dua for you. Isn’t that amazing? so get busy. Life is short like elf’s.

May Allah swt give us all patience and increase us in knowledge and positive halal actions. Ameen!

AND OH YEA, FOR EVERYONE WHO LEAVES COMMENTS, the link is on top of the post, it say’s (comments). So click that and leave a comment. My bad, It got flipped from my last template.

Tell the truth Pinnochio….

Salam, my bad I haven’t posted for a while, I took my road test today and I failed, make dua I pass next time. Anyways let me get straight to the point, I will start working at a dealership showroom and it seems to me that most sales people are liars.

It’s halal brother trust me! We hear it all the time from everyone, especially from the vendors in the streets of New York that “claim to be zabiha”. hmm should I believe you?istockphoto_4403872_big_nose_kid3.jpg Let’s face it. Whether it’s business, keeping a relationship with your spouse, family, or your friends we can all agree trust is the single most important principle in order to maintain stability and comfort in your life.

From time to time, we forget we will be taken into account for how we used our tongues. Though many people are unaware of the seriousness of lying, we need to drill something into our hearts today and that is we should always be aware of what we say before we say it. We don’t follow Pinocchio, we follow the sunnah, let’s make it clear.

Of course we are not Angels, we are meant to be disciplined. In that case we gotta speak and live the truth, as many of us know even the hypocrites say the kalima also, but what should separate you from the hypocrite is that you don’t just say the Kalima, You outright live it! Lying leads to more problems, you try to cover it up and you end up getting screwed.

You might think you got away with it, but you need to calm down because Allah watches over everything. What’s strange is how people get so comfortable in lying or sinning and they laugh about it, as if they won’t be bought fourth on the day of judgment.

The reason why I decided to write about this was because I have seen consistently by looking at society that we like to over exaggerate story’s, sometimes we might sugar coat it, or for the desi’s put some masala on it or we will just simply lie. Whatever that means, but anyways the point is we all have to develop tawhid in our hearts. We have to constantly reaffirm our beliefs and keep ourselves in check, if you stay within good company, Inshallah (God Willing) they will help you. If not find some new friends.

Oh is April fools haram? Yes. But if someone says I’m only joking? okay is lying the same as joking? Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s) would only joke if it was true. Like when the old woman came to him and she asked Prophet Muhammad (s) to make dua for her because she was old and wanted to go to heaven. He replied “old woman will not enter paradise”. Then she started crying, then he said “because all woman will enter paradise young”. Then she smiled, you see, that’s a real joke. Mashallah!

Let me quickly quote a verse in the Holy Quran “And do not say that of which you have no knowledge.” ( 17:36)

Also two serious hadith to wrap up my post by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s) “Truthfulness leads to piety and piety leads to the Paradise. A man should be truthful until he is written down as truthful with God. Lying leads to deviance and deviance leads to the Fire. A man will lie until he is written down as a liar with God.”

“If anyone has four characteristics, he is a pure hypocrite, and if anyone has one of them, he has an aspect of hypocrisy until he gives it up: whenever he is trusted, he betrays his trust; whenever he speaks, he lies; when he makes an agreement, he breaks it; and when he quarrels, he deviates from the truth by speaking falsely.”

So start watching what you say, If your having a problem, carry a mirror with you. May Allah help guard our mouths and give us the strength and intellect to enter paradise.

And we don’t need lie detector tests, the Angels are recording everything! Don’t lie like pinnochio before you are lying in the Grave.

I want to get married but…

Salam,ist2_5145595_attention_wedding.jpg

Of course no one can disagree from an Islamic perspective that the belief one should get married earlier is best. Due to societal pressures and natural inclinations. Recently I’ve seen some brothers and sisters become trend settaz with doing their nikkah and holding off until the actual wedding and valima. Now we have to use our intelligence and be practical also, but what annoys me is alot of parents think you have to posess a degree before you can get married. I disagree, if you want your child to be within the parameters of shariah you should get their nikkah done and place trust in Allah.

I’m not saying the couple should live togetheir right away, all im saying is in this type of society its easy to slip on shatan’s mopped floor. To avoid accidents, their are precautionary actions which are very beneficial that can avoid either sex from crossing boundaries, you know what I mean by that term. Don’t think too deep though.

Looking for a suitable partner is not easy, but at the same time maintaining our eman is extremely important. The question is where do you draw the line in looking for that special person? Of course you will get a whole unique set of answers. One of the thing that Islam puts emphasis on is marriage. Marriage is half of your life, you will be with a certain human being of the opposite sex until the day you die. (I HOPE) No Adam and Steve up in this. Anyhows let me get back to my point, with the cultural challenges and everyday gender interaction, we can all agree its not real easy to just completely leave it alone. Its part of our nature to have affection for the opposite sex and we should follow the set principles and guidelines in order to go about completing this.

One hadith which really amazed me was The Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, said, “A woman is married for her wealth, her reputation, her beauty, or her religion. Choose the religious one or you may be ruined.” [Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 27] Very interesting, it’s easy for many people to look at this and say ” oh can’t I marry a hot girl”. Well see you need to realize something, its not about the looks, looks are decieving, its about the actions. Now if you get a beautiful woman that has good actions, then your set .

Now the question of the day, how do you go about finding the opposite spouse? make a dua out of desperation and full intention from your heart. Inshallah you will find your suitable spouse. According to sunnipath, one dua is “Rabbana aatina fi’d dunya hasana wa fi’l aakhirati hasana wa qina `adhab an-nar.” [O Lord! Grant us good in this life, and good in the next, and save us from the torment of the Fire] (Qur’an, 2: 200), intending a suitable and righteous spouse with “fi’d dunya hasana” (good in this life).

I know at the end of the day, for many people its hard to stick within the limits, but I guess defining limits is a term that is very flexible these days. The solution, the parents from the generation before need to understand the challenges for the youth right now. This isn’t pakistan, their needs to be dialog and understanding. Parents gotta help their kids when they are ready before they up doing something which is haram. So if your a parent reading this and your son or daughter is complaning about getting married. Make MOVES SOON! Of course you gotta be practical as I said before but don’t miss the chance when you have a good person at the table.

Alot of brothers and sisters want to get to know each other before they get married, hmm I don’t think their is nothing with that. I think you should definitely know a person before you marry them. The question is how much is enough? At the end of the day you gotta love someone fo real, not because you were forced into it. So we need to think about how are we going to approach this without getting out of hand but also bring the real relationships of familys back. As Abdul Malik said ” Alot of desi parents don’t even face each other in bed”.

So whats the solution? you tell me…that was just scratching the surface.

May Allah give us patience in finding a spouse and give us the right understanding to fix our problems. Ameen!

Oh yea one more official Hadith before i bounce….

Sayyiduna Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) say, If you relied on Allah as He should be relied on, He would provide for you as He provides for birds. They go out hungry in the early morning, and return full in the evening.” [Tirmidhi] The scholars note that birds do not merely place their trust in Allah: they go out early, and take all means to fulfill their goal.

Thinking Ahead…

Salam,

My bad, I know I haven’t posted for three or 4 days, I just wanted to let all of you know I just came back from a Tarbiya Retreat program. The program although pretty intensive was quite nurturing for the soul. Any hows let me get straight to my point. Recently I have been hearing stories of beloved Muslim leaders passing away, one of them being a sister from Islamic Circle of North America named Fozia (May Allah bless her), who spent her whole life teaching the deen, and touching peoples heart with the truth.

She passed away in Kentucky a few days ago from cancer and many people came to see her and were crying but in a way were relieved because she is a person of jannat and going back to the ayat in the Quran, from Allah we come and to him we shall return. A few minutes before she actually passed away my mom told me she had her eyes closed but was describing a scenery which was very green and beautiful, Subhanullah! We all know their is a hadith which says that the person at the time of death they are shown their position in the hereafter. Whether they have entered the blessed gardens of paradise or the blazing fire.

This really made me think ahead, if we departed from this world today where would we go? We love planning vacations and taking time out to chill, but most importantly we should think about the hereafter. Since nothing is promised in life except death, its only right we prepare for it. Go out and give dawah, develop prophetic character and be strict where you need to be strict. We are all here to be on the safe side, I know their are times when we get caught up with the worldly life but we should develop constant awareness of God Almighty.

It’s definitely hard but heaven has no price tags, it all comes down to our good deeds and salat, though we sometimes think we are young, thats just a trick of the devil. Remember though, the shatan is as only as strong as we make him. Allah says in the Quran that if we don’t fulfill our purpose in life then we will replace us with someone us, and for him that is not hard at all. The question comes down to thinking ahead, what will you do after you read my post? including myself. I read a beautiful hadith the other day narrated by At-Tirmidhi ” What enables people to enter paradise more than anything is piety and good character”

The other day I was riding pass a neighborhood and I say a wall with graffiti art, it looked really captivating and it said ” the best way to predict the future is to create it”. Something to really think about, so think ahead Inshallah and use your health and time for halal purposes before its too late. May Allah guide us all and forgive us for all of our shortcomings in this life and give us success in the hereafter. Ameen!

Everytime I pick up a Islamic magazine, newspaper, or hop around different websites that use google adsense, I see this brother and sister modeling everywhere. They must be making good money! any hows I was just wondering how they end up always getting a modeling contract. They showed up in La Riba, they showed up in some new muslim matrimonial website called Muslima.com. I thought it was funny.

Any hows lower your gaze, ha, oh yea would you let your daughter model like this? Yes or No? Real halal talk, write your feedback, some brothers at the ICNA convention got heated and said Hell No, when they saw this sister at multiple booths on random posters and businesses.

I wonder if she is married? =P…just playin, cool off.
