Profound Aesthetic - Fresh Muslim Yo.

Salam yo, King Bird

This year at Muslim Youth Day I came across an apparel company that caught my eye.

Usually when I browse through T shirt company’s  made by Muslims, the quality is unfortunately cheap and the designs don’t stand out.

This brand however was different, the name  “Profound Aesthetic” is appealing by itself. You can tell when you pick up any of the t shirts, alot of effort, thought, and design was put into the product.

The co-founders who are actually siblings started this company and since they have introduced their brand, things have been working well insh’Allah.

It makes me good that we have Muslim entrepreneurs that are producing company’s with products that are appealing to both Muslims and Non Muslims.

Here is a short clip with brother faraz (co-founder) breaking down the brand

Brand Philosophy:

At Profound Aesthetic our foundation lies in spreading a positive message that carries weight with tremendous metaphoric connation. We are a team of individuals seeking to express change in society’s mode of thinking by bringing about a positivist attitude. Along with the creative ideas developed in our Profound Mind lab we also encourage our fans to help in developing the Profound Cause by contributing your thoughts and ideas; everyone is talented in their own way. The world is a beautiful place, that should never be forgotten, and our goal is to help remind you of that every time you look in to your wardrobe.

Anyways check it out, here are some more shirts below.

Hijab With Rabbit Ears

Every week I get asked very interesting questions from regular readers and visitors who just pass by my blog.

Recently, a brother asked me if it’s haraam to sell a Hijab for kids that has rabbit ears on it, check it out below.

Thoughts, suggestions? I need a Muslima aka Alima aka a Women Mufti to answer this.  Although it’s strange that a brother was the one who asked the question.

Palestinian Style Kuffiyah - Trend Settaz.

Salam,

Giving dawah seems to be getting easier and easier, recently I’ve been seeing traditional Islamic Scarfs such as the shemagh aka keffiyah sparking a trend in fashion. Actually its been spreading for a while now, but I’ve seen it gradually becoming a trend in Brooklyn, where I live, and in New York City.

As a matter of fact urban outfitters is selling it on their website, and not surprising at all, its sold out at the moment. Check out an interesting article on the Chronology of the keffiyah here

Non-Muslims are starting to rock it in the hood also, and so do the Palestinians in the Gaza strip. It might not be a big deal to you, but I used to work at H and M and it’s just interesting to see how fashion no matter where it comes from can still bring people towards a certain culture especially from an Islamic tradition.

The shemagh is hot, I’m about to buy one myself or maybe a couple. Alot of celebrity’s are also rockin it. Such as brother Lupe fiasco and my man Shaykh Sudais.

The keffiyeh (Arabic: كوفية, kūfīyä; plural: كوفيات, kūfīyāt) is also known as a shmagh, shemagh or yashmag ( شماغ, šmāġ), a ghutra ( غترة, ġuträ) or a hatta ( حطّة, ḥaṭṭä), and is a traditional headdress of Arab men, made of a square of cloth (”scarf”, usually cotton, folded and wrapped in various styles around the head. It is commonly found in arid climate areas to provide protection from direct sun exposure, as well as for occasional use in protecting the mouth and eyes from blown dust and sand. - (Wikiepdia)

At the end of the day, it’s fashion but it has arrived suddenly. I look at anything for an opportunity to give dawah, if something comes from the Muslim world and it’s appealing over here. I’m pretty interested and impressed by how it happened. Sort of like how Hush puppies started their trend in the United States. Who ever knew a scarf from the Muslim World would be hot for fashion. Inshallah (God Willing) this can be just one window to opening up hearts to many other great things which came from the Middle East.

As a matter of fact, Non Muslims in Philadelphia rock the kufi with long white tees and timberlands. If they like our looks, maybe next they will open books to see why we do other things also.

For all you business minded individuals out there, what’s next to hit the streets? Inshallah it’s leather socks. Ha.

May God Almighty guide us all and help us attain love for all the Prophets including his last, Prophet Muhammad (peace and salutations be upon him and all of them) Ameen…

Wi-Fi Detector Shirt.

Salam, I know as a Muslim you shouldn’t dress to impress, because that builds your pride, rather you should dress for sunnah success, to look nice, and feel good about yourself.

I have to say i find these shirts pretty cool to rock, im thinking about buying them. The first one is a wi- fi shirt that has glowing bars which tell you how strong a signal is within the area you are in and the other a mozilla firefox tee. I use mozilla because is much more efficient to use than internet explorer.

Think about it because of these internet browsers you can access sunnipath.com and go to different Islamic sites, and you need a internet wi- fi signal or connection to go online and give dawah and get knowledge. The internet is mashallah mad ill yo. Shout out to all the internet developers, Muslim and non- Muslim. Inshallah Allah guide them and let them use their talents for halal efforts. So these are the shirts which you can purchase below one from the mozilla firefox store and the other from thinkgeek

*oh yea inshallah look out for different chill yo islam yo shirts coming soon.
